As I create my last designs of 2021, I hope this blog post finds you well. I hope that I can be some sort of inspiration to each and every one of you who might read this.
Regardless if you have a good or bad day, you always have to believe tomorrow will be better. People used to tell me what are you going to rap about! They also told me, there’s no way you can DJ and rap. Then, I remember people used to tell me, who’s going to buy your beats. Silly folks!!!
Believe in yourself even when no one else does. My last clothing line was based on my record label and business name but I felt it was time to elevate and expand. We can’t be perfect but we can always be better everyday by being consistent. Who cares if you don’t have the money to get your book pressed up do an E-Book online. You can’t start your clothing line, style your friends and family. You can’t afford DJ equipment or making beats, find out how you can get some used or pre-owned equipment or some cracked software.
People will place their owns fears and inadequacies on you because they never took the time or opportunity to show up and be present to work. There’s always more WORK to do and the WORK always pays off. DO NOT LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE. I did not just come about this overnight either. I worked at Hecht’s/Macy’s in college, I styled people at Express for quite sometime and a lot of local music artwork you may see, I’ve created or collaborated with others to get the job. Then, I soaked up a lot of knowledge from my peers about designs, placements, colors etc. I took that knowledge to Photoshop and other design software and hit the ground running.
Whether I sell 1 or million, I’m here for the culture who makes everything popular because we do it so effortlessly. I’m coming for that number 1 spot!! Virgil is gone and we probably will never see anything like his creative genius again. Kanye and Pusha T definitely inspired me to say there’s a realm I can work in that doesn’t take away with what I’m already doing. All it can do is enhance the moves I’m trying to make.
I wish you all well in 2022. I want to leave any notions or anxieties of failure in 2021. I want ALL POSITIVE VIBES from here on. If someone doesn’t believe in you, leave them right where they are. Let’s leave all old baggage and old news in 2021.
